MATERIALS AND PRODUCTION

High-Quality Materials – Designed for Long-Lasting Durability

At Tica Copenhagen, we never compromise on the quality of the materials used in our production. On this page, you can learn more about the materials we use and how we treat our products—from concept to finished mat.

All our mats undergo thorough testing to ensure they meet our high standards. They are designed to withstand all seasons, all types of rooms, and everyday wear—year after year. Whether you come in with wet running shoes, muddy clogs, sandy flip-flops, or dirty winter boots, our mats are built to handle it all.

Choosing a mat from Tica means getting a durable, functional product that combines design, practicality, and longevity.

Materials – Durable and Functional Solutions for Everyday Use

Our rugs, mats, and runners are made of polyamide—a soft nylon material that is highly durable and water-absorbent. The colors remain vibrant even with daily use and exposure to strong sunlight.

With a pile height of 7 mm, the mats fit under most doors without interfering with thresholds. This height is carefully selected to effectively absorb water and dirt while providing an elegant carpet look that feels comfortable to walk, stand, or sit on.

The backing is made of phthalate-free vinyl, making the mat extra durable and ensuring it stays securely in place without slipping, transferring color, or being damaged by underfloor heating.

Production – Quality and Environmental Focus from Belgium

All our rugs and mats are produced in Belgium, a country with a strong tradition and many years of expertise in carpet manufacturing. We have partnered with the same Belgian factory for years to ensure consistent, high quality.

The factory holds ISO 9001 and REACH certifications, meaning production complies with strict standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. ISO 9001 guarantees high standards in manufacturing processes, while REACH—the EU’s toughest chemical regulation—protects both people and the environment from harmful substances.

By choosing European-made rugs, you not only get superior quality but also a more sustainable solution with shorter transport distances and a lower carbon footprint.

Shoe Trays and Door Mats in Recycled Rubber – Durable and Flexible

Our shoe trays and door mats are made from 60% recycled rubber and 40% natural rubber, molded in durable metal forms in South India. The rubber primarily comes from old tires and leftover materials from other rubber production, making our shoe trays and rubber mats a more sustainable choice. The sturdy rubber construction ensures they last for many years without losing shape or function.

The flexible edge won’t crack even when stepped on—an everyday practical advantage that makes the shoe tray easy to use and highly durable.

Non-Slip and Stable – Even on Slippery Floors

Rubber is a heavy and solid material, which means our shoe trays lie firmly on the floor and don’t slide around—regardless of whether you have wooden floors, tiles, or vinyl. They are also suitable for underfloor heating, as the material withstands heat without deforming.

Design Racks in Steel and Wood – Functional and Aesthetic Storage Solutions

Our racks and shelves are produced in Poland and combine powder-coated steel with solid wood legs—a durable and stylish solution for modern interiors. The perforated metal gives a light, industrial look and makes the furniture both airy and multifunctional.

These shelves work perfectly as storage furniture in entryways, bedrooms, closets, or offices. The solid design makes them suitable for shoes, bags, storage boxes, or decorations.

Whether you are looking for a slim metal shelf, a functional rack for small spaces, or simply want to add a sleek Scandinavian element to your home, our racks combine functionality, quality, and timeless design.
